Cookie Policy

What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites visited by the user send to their device (usually to the browser), where they are stored and then transmitted back to the same websites on the user’s next visit.

While browsing a website, the user may also receive cookies from different websites or web servers (“third-party cookies”), which may contain elements such as images, maps, sounds, or links to other domains hosted on servers other than the one where the requested page is located.

In other words, these are cookies that are set by a website different from the one currently being visited.

Cookies are used to carry out computer authentication, session tracking, and store specific information about users accessing the server. They are commonly present in large numbers in each user’s browser.

Some operations cannot be performed without cookies, which are therefore technically essential in certain cases. For example, access to online banking services and related operations (such as viewing account statements, transferring funds, paying bills, etc.) would be more complex and less secure without cookies that allow the identification of the user and maintain their session.

Cookies can remain stored in the system for long periods and may contain a unique identifier code. This enables websites that use cookies to track user navigation within the site, for statistical or advertising purposes, creating a personalized user profile based on visited pages and showing targeted advertising (so-called “Behavioural Advertising”).

Main Types of Cookies

Here is a brief description of the main categories of cookies:

Session and Persistent Cookies

  • Session Cookies: Contain information used during your current browsing session and are automatically deleted when you close the browser.

  • Persistent Cookies (e.g., ASPXANONYMOUS): Used to store information between visits to the website or for technical purposes to enhance your browsing experience. These cookies allow websites to recognize you as a returning user or visitor and adapt accordingly. Their duration is set by the website and can range from a few minutes to several years.

First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

  • First-Party Cookies: Created and managed directly by the website you are visiting.

  • Third-Party Cookies: Created by external domains; their data is stored and managed by third parties.

Technical and Profiling Cookies

  • Technical Cookies: Used solely to transmit communications over an electronic network, or as strictly necessary for the provider of an information society service explicitly requested by the user (see Art. 122(1) of the Privacy Code). They are not used for additional purposes and are typically installed directly by the website operator. These include functionality cookies, which allow browsing based on selected criteria (such as language or items in a shopping cart) to improve the provided service.

  • Analytics Cookies: Treated as technical cookies when used directly by the website operator to collect information in aggregate form about the number of users and how they visit the site.

  • Profiling Cookies: Aimed at creating user profiles to send advertising messages aligned with user preferences expressed while browsing the internet. Due to their potential impact on users’ privacy, EU and Italian regulations require that users be adequately informed about their use and give valid consent.

Cookies Used on This Website

This website uses both session cookies (temporary files deleted when you leave the site or close your browser) and persistent cookies (files stored beyond the browsing session, deleted upon expiration).

Details of cookies, including name, domain, path, duration, and value, are listed in the technical section of this policy.

Technical and aggregated statistical cookies are used for:

  • Activities strictly necessary for operation: Cookies used to save the user’s session and perform essential activities for the website’s functioning.

  • Preference saving, optimization, and statistics: Cookies used to store navigation preferences and optimize the user experience, for example, to set language options or for statistical analysis by the website owner.
